LeadTip #37 Overcoming Limitations

What is impossible with man is possible with God. Luke 18:27

Do not limit your vision, dreams, and leadership goals, to what you see, what you feel, your past experiences, your skills and education, what others say you can be and not be. As a believer in Christ, you have the God of the impossible within you.

Give your limitations to Him, put Jesus first and trust in His Word for every decision you make. He will do the impossible and back you as a godly leader.

✓ Seek out solutions, the answers to your questions, principles to follow, guidance, by examining scripture.

Do not be lazy and or reactive when making decisions. Be diligent and center every decision around Christ. What would Jesus do? Living and leading by God’s word will reap the blessings in God’s word.

Before making decisions that will affect your life, ministry, marriage, children, finances, etc. take time to seek out godly wisdom. Do not rush or be pressured to act on emotions, and do not follow unwise and or ungodly counsel. Ask yourself, what does the Bible say? What would a godly leader do in this situation? These are good questions to ask when making decisions.

◦ The closer you get to Jesus the closer you get to the impossible.

Be delighted with the Lord. Then he will give you all your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it, and he will. Psalm 37:4 LB

As a leader your first priority must be to draw closer to God and lead people closer to God. This means getting closer to his church.

When Jesus appeared lost, he said to his mother Mary and Joseph, “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house. Luke 2:49 A godly leader has a love for the Lord and a commitment to his church.

◦ Do not compromise your integrity and Christian values to achieve a goal.

Your example and actions are what people will follow more than your words. Remember all blessing comes from God. Just because you accomplish a task or achieve a goal does not mean God will bless it. God will not violate His word.

Compromise is a momentary carnal decision that takes you off the road of the impossible and will diminish your God given authority as a leader.

◦ Prayer is the sustenance of leading with the help of the Holy Spirit.

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

There is no need to pray for what you can easily do. Pray for what you cannot do! God wants to help you in this life. That is why he sent the Holy Spirit as a helper. Ask him for whatever you need. There are times you need to stop what you are doing, the busyness, and just pray. Pray by yourself, pray with others, establish a team that prays.

Sometimes it takes much prayer to get the breakthrough you need. Other times a simple prayer will get you an answer. The important thing is to pray, to talk to God, to ask God, to seek him for solutions, favor and blessing.

The Bible says; “You do not have because you do not ask God. James 4:2b

Prayer is like pulling on a rope that is tied to heaven and the impossible! Keep pulling!
